The National Institute of Biology (NIB) has constructed a new business building at the existing location.
The building features demanding Schüco windows from the AWS 90 series. The windows are very large, requiring prior coordination with the supplier on how to execute them to ensure full warranty coverage. Due to technical specifics, the block windows required the glass to be installed already at the production site. The manufacturing time therefore increased by 150%. Additionally, this resulted in a complex installation process, as the windows were very heavy and access was limited.
First, half of the building was completed, to which the employees were relocated. After the relocation, the other half was completed. This required precisely determined schedules to ensure the uninterrupted work of the institute. Since special materials with long delivery times and demanding manufacturing processes were used, this required logistical planning and coordination. We completed the work within the planned deadlines.
